Diabetes, Healthy Feet and You

Developed by Wounds Canada, this educational workshop helps you learn how to enjoy an active life, keep your feet healthy and prevent foot complications through good diabetic foot care practices.


This workshop will provide you with:

  • A list of questions to ask your healthcare provider
  • A shoe fitting guide
  • A workbook and resources to help with managing foot care and selecting proper footwear

This is an educational workshop and does not replace the advice of your healthcare provider. No referral is needed.

 

What happens in a workshop?

By the end of the workshop participants will be able to:
  • Assess the impact of diabetes on the health of their feet
  • Identify factors that can lead to foot ulcers
  • Learn how to care for their feet daily

Who should attend the workshop?

If you answer yes to any of these questions consider attending an upcoming Diabetes, Healthy Feet and You workshop:
  • Do you have diabetes?
  • Do you have any tingling or numbness in your feet?
  • Is the shape of your feet changing?
  • Do you have sores or blisters on your feet?

This program is available in English & Hindi.

What does it cost to attend?

FREE to all! Workbook and resources provided.

How long is the workshop?

Participant’s meet over two sessions that are 1.5 hours each.

Who leads the workshop?

The workshop is led by healthcare providers and people who are living with diabetes.
