Powerful Tools for Caregivers

Powerful Tools for Caregivers

Powerful Tools for Caregivers is a 6-week workshop that gives participants the skills to take care of themselves while caring for their loved ones. It was developed by the Powerful Tools for Caregivers Organization. By taking care of their own health and well-being, participants will become better care-givers.

In the six weekly classes, caregivers develop a wealth of self-care tools to:

  • Reduce personal stress
  • Change negative self-talk
  • Communicate their needs to family members and healthcare or service providers
  • Communicate effectively in challenging situations
  • Recognize the messages in their emotions and deal with difficult feelings
